Three Steps to Great Success

We are given the power to think and choose our own fate. The problem is that not a lot of people realize this and as a result, they refuse to do anything to change the circumstances that they are in.

It is common to see unhappy employees sitting at their desk, doing the job they hate. In fact, they have probably been in that state for the last five years and have done nothing about it. There are also stay at home moms taking charge of their home who find themselves unfulfilled and lonely after dropping their kids in school, and wish they had something meaningful to do that will delight them and make them proud of themselves. These groups of people have one thing in common: they are afraid of making a big change in their life. So this leaves them exactly the way they are- unhappy, unfulfilled, and unsuccessful.

The one thing people should be very well aware of is that YOU have the power to change things, to change your life. And to a large extent, whatever is going on in your life right now is a result of your own efforts (or the lack of it).

So, if you are ready to make a brand new start and work your way towards a more rewarding future, there are three steps you need to go through.

Step 1: Change your mindset.

It all starts with your way of thinking. If you are always thinking negative thoughts, you will only be inviting negative things to come your way- depression, loneliness, emotional pain, and more. Develop a winning mindset by making a conscious decision to attain the change you seek. Stop making excuses, and instead clearly put in your head what it is you want using vivid visual images of how you see yourself in the future. When you do this constantly, you will change your mindset for the better.

Step 2: Change your attitude.

When you always tell yourself “you can’t do this” and “you can’t do that,” you can bet your bottom dollar that you really will not be able to do it. You have to have a positive attitude by being a “can-do” person and not someone who turns down offers because he thinks there is no way he can do that. Again, excuses and more excuses. To become successful, a high level of positive thinking, self-confidence, and perseverance is necessary.

Step 3: Make that change.

You have changed your mindset and your attitude, now you need to step up and change things. If you do not like your job now, talk to your supervisor about your problem and see if something can be done about it. If they tell you that there are skills you lack, then do something to remedy this. Hone your skills or learn new ones; do not wait for them to provide you with opportunities- you have to be the one to initiate it.
There are people who are successful in personal and career aspects; these are the kind of people who have developed the right mindset, a positive attitude, and the courage to change the way things are so that they can have a brighter, and more satisfying future. You should be that kind of person.

How to Make Your Dreams a Reality

Ever since we were children, we’ve had dreams. The sad thing is, over the years we convinced ourselves that our dreams could never come true. Because we assumed that they were mere fantasies, we didn’t even try to make them come true.

Believe it or not, your dreams can be reality! However, you won’t get anywhere by simply making a wish. You have to take specific actions to increase your chances of living that life you always dreamed of.

These are some simple techniques that can help you get started:

1. You must possess passion and desire. These two elements are crucial for living your dream. Interestingly enough, you really can’t have one without the other. You must yearn to have something in your life so much (desire) and for the right reasons (passion).

  • A good example to illustrate the difference would be if you always wanted to be a professional singer. You know that you have the talent and all you want in life is to sing on a professional stage some day (desire). Your focus isn’t the money, fame, or prestige; you just have a true love for singing. It’s all you think about all-day, every day (passion).

2. Patience. Patience isn’t easy, but in most case, our dreams don’t come true overnight. You need to work hard to achieve your full potential. Though it may take longer than you hoped, once you’re living your dream, you’ll realize that practicing patience was worth the rewards.

  • Just remember to remain positive, focus on your dreams, and keep taking action to make those dreams a reality. After all, patience is a virtue!

3. Sacrifice. Achieving your dreams will require self-sacrifice. This is usually where most people can gauge how serious they are about turning their dreams into reality. Whether it is giving up your TV time to work toward your goals, or spending extra hours at work to further your career, you have to be willing to sacrifice something.

  • If you’re truly passionate about your dreams, this shouldn’t be too difficult. If you do find sacrifice extremely difficult, it may be that you don’t possess enough desire, passion, willpower, or self-discipline to see your dreams through.

4. Confidence. If you truly want to make your dreams real, you have to believe they can happen. You must possess an intense confidence in yourself and your talents; otherwise, your dreams will remain dreams forever.

  • Sometimes your confidence may waiver, but as long as you can focus on your ultimate goal – and you can actually see yourself achieving this goal – you’re heading in the right direction.

Final Thoughts on Achieving Your Dreams

No one can steal your dreams away from you except you. Sometimes we can be our own worst enemy, biggest obstacle, and harshest critic. But that’s not what you need! You need to remember that, by taking action and implementing these simple tips and suggestions, your dreams can come true.

Keep your focus on the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow; it will happen if you only believe it can!

Use Positive Affirmations to Discover the Joy in Your Life

Affirmations are simple statements we can use to improve our self-esteem, help us reach a goal, break a bad habit, find love, or even discover joy in our lives. Positive affirmations work hand in hand with our subconscious to make lasting changes for the better.

Many times we may already experience joy, but we don’t know how to celebrate it enough. Sadly, at other times, we aren’t even aware that it’s present. Positive affirmations can help you rediscover that joy, peace, health, and happiness!

Here are some examples of positive affirmations and how they can improve your life:

1. “I’m worth it!” This positive affirmation tells us that we’re deserving of being happy. If you’re feeling dejected or worthless, this affirmation can work wonders.

  • By using this affirmation on a consistent basis and coupling it with an open heart, you’ll see results. You’ll realize that you’re more than deserving of happiness and joy.

2. “I go with the flow and my life is easy and filled with happiness.” Are you feeling stuck in rut or completely stressed out? This is an effective positive affirmation that helps you to release all that tension.

  • This affirmation helps you rid your mind of negativity so the joy that’s present can shine through.

3. “I see the beauty in my surroundings and I radiate love and joy.” This positive affirmation will help you to notice all that’s beautiful in this world. It will also teach you how to spread love and joy to those around you.

  • You can enjoy everything this world has to offer; all you have to do is give yourself permission to celebrate!

4. “I now choose thoughts that nourish and support me in a loving manner.” This will tell your subconscious that you’re serious and you want to make good, positive changes in your life.

  • This affirmation helps you open your mind to constructive thoughts so you can celebrate all the joys that life has to offer you.

5. “I can relax and accept the good that I know I deserve in my life.” This is a positive affirmation that will help with your stress and patience.

  • No matter how long it may take, you can be confident that only good things await you.
  • Even though you may be completely stressed out, this affirmation will help you to relax and slow down.

6. “I take time regularly to do the things that I love to do; I follow my heart and I am happy.” This positive affirmation celebrates someone very important – you! You take the time to make yourself a priority and you’re an active player in your life!

  • To be happy is extremely important and joy will follow you wherever you go when you recite this affirmation frequently.

Joy is essential and our lives should be filled with it. Positive affirmations allow us to refocus our lives to a point where we can be happy again. Practice positive affirmations on a regular basis and celebrate all the joy that this life has to offer!
