I'll be placing articles here related to motivation. I find it difficult at times to become and stay motivated but I do my best! Hopefully you'll find something here that will help you to find your motivators!

The things that motivate you into taking action may not be the same things that motivate me. There are as many diverse ways to be motivated as there are people.

We may have some motivators in common but every one of us has some very unique buttons that will push us into doing what needs to be done.

Identifying these push buttons of motivation will help you to get and stay motivated. Knowing what they are will make it easy for you to continue doing them which will allow your motivation to remain high.

To get started consider some simple things you've done before that have motivated you. Are there any favorite books or movies that get you going when you read or see them? Are there certain people that you greatly admire for all of their accomplishments?

How about some of the negative stuff we all experience in our lives, does that get you motivated? For instance, a big mortgage payment coming due without a lot of money in the bank will get me moving pretty darn fast. Depending on what your goal is, money can be one of the great motivators.

If your goal is not about money then try making it about the people in your life or in the world. Make it your personal mission to carry out something that can make a difference in the world or in the lives of the people you love. Your motivation may come from the desire to make a better life for your family.

How about personal satisfaction? The yearning to grow and become more of who you truly want to be could be a great motivator for you. Doing something, such as starting your own business, getting in shape, or returning to school can give you such a great emotional high and that feeling can motivate you in moving towards your goal.

These are just a couple of examples. The most significant thing is to find something that motivates you. Pick something that will drive you into taking action and keep you going even when the challenges of life make you want to back off.

Remember too that motivation runs in cycles and depends on what type of goals you have set and which step you’re at on the way to achieving them. What motivates you today may leave you feeling flat next week so always be open to new ways of finding your motivation.

If you're not sure what truly motivates you, experiment! Listen to music, read inspiring material, have a brainstorming session with friends, visit a museum, ride a roller coaster, etc. There are an abundance of ways to keep yourself motivated. Find what works for you and use it!
