"I skate where the puck is going to be, not where it has been."
- Wayne Gretzky
Pretty profound for a hockey player, eh ;o) Keeping your mind moving forward to where you want to be instead of where you have been can be a monumental task at times.
Past accomplishments can make you feel great but they can't be compared to what you are able to do today. Remembering your "glory days" can make you feel good about yourself and have you glowing with pride at the thought of, "Look what I did!" As soon as you've replayed one of your wonderful achievements over in your mind you should ask yourself, "What should I do next?"
You'd be surprised at how little time you spend reflecting on past successes if you continually ask yourself, "What can I do now?" Instead of dwelling on past accomplishments with an air of nostalgia you'll be using them as fuel for your next creation instead.
So take all your past achievements, both big and small, place them in a memory box in your mind and pull them out whenever you need inspiration to accomplish your next great success!
