Do You Have This Mind Virus?

The virus I’m talking about is limits. There are two kinds in this world. The first is actual limits. For example, you can’t hold your breath under water for 26 hours straight, no matter how hard you tried. The second set of limits are perceived limits. Of the two, there are very few actual limits in life, but there are billions of perceived limits.

Many of us use our senses to determine our beliefs. This is not a very good strategy. Our senses were not able to detect microscopic life. We needed a microscope. Cooking a baked potato in seven minutes was not possible, because we had never seen it. That is, until the microwave was invented.

The best way to improve your life is to question all your limits. Don’t wait for technology to prove it to you. Use the technology of your mind. You must if you wish to destroy false limits and extend your reach.

Dogs And Life

“All of the animals except for man know that the principle business of life is to enjoy it.” - Samuel Butler

We’ve had tons of snow fall on the city over the past two days. It’s crazy and messy and annoying…everyone is complaining and whining (including me). I’m so over the snow and wanting so badly to see a little green on the ground.

Chakra (my dog) however, is thoroughly enjoying this last burst of Winter…running around, sticking her head in the huge snowbanks, making doggy snow angels and just living in the moment. I guess I could take a lesson from her in that enjoying what is instead of wishing for what isn’t allows you to be happy at any given moment in time. That’s her below :o)

Coffee and Communication

“Science may never come up with a better office communication system than the coffee break.”
Earl Wilson

For those of you who love coffee, this quote will make complete sense. I know that in my office the best way to get the scoop on what’s going on behind the scenes is when we gather for a coffee break.

I’ve also had some of my most memorable and enlightening conversations over a cup of coffee. The aroma, the heat coming from the mug and the delicious taste of a good brewed coffee just helps to lighten the load sometimes…not to mention the jolt you get when you have a few cups under your belt. Many a thing would have been left undone during a busy day if it weren’t for coffee!
