Happiness is….

“Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.”
- Mohanda Gandhi

I love this quote. It’s a reminder that we often say or think in a certain way and yet what we do may be the total opposite of that. For example, I may think and say that I believe that exercise is an incredibly important part of leading a healthy and successful life, yet I then spend 4 hours a night watching tv instead of taking some of that time to go for a walk or go to the gym. I may say and think that I want to have more money in my life, yet I spend money on stuff that won’t move me in the direction of that and I spend 4 hours a day watching tv instead of researching ways to go about having more money in my life.

And I know that when I do things that are in alignment with what I am thinking and saying, I am happy and motivated and inspired. So I now watch what I am doing in my life. When I get off track with what I am thinking, saying and doing…I sit down and write about it. This helps me to align myself with what my true intentions are. When what I am thinking, saying and doing are in harmony I am happy and filled with such amazing vibrational energy that I know that what I want to do, be and have is speeding towards me at breakneck speed! How about you?

Don't Stop For Too Long!

“Life is a progress, and not a station.”
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

This quote is pretty much saying life itself is the journey. It is meant to be lived…to evolve. We don’t stop just because we’ve created a masterpiece or reach a goal. Becoming stagnant is a form of death. Imagine if Michelangelo had stopped with David…a perfect piece of sculpture…if he had done nothing else in his life he stilled would have been revered for that work of art…but we wouldn’t have the incredible frescos he painted in the Sistine Chapel nor a lot of other magical pieces of art he created.

There is always something else to pursue in life…it never ends…the learning, the creating, the evolving. It’s okay to relax at a rest stop once in awhile but if you stay there for years on end it can become a habit and habits can be difficult things to break. I, for one, prefer to progress along my life’s path, even when that path is a bumpy one rather than just sit at the station and watch all the adventurers go out and have all the fun. How about you?

Books, books, books!

“The only true law is that which leads to freedom,” Jonathan said. “There is no other.”
- Richard Bach

If you’ve never read Jonathan Livingston Seagull, you are missing out on a classic! I love every Richard Bach book I have read as each one sparked something within me. Illusions: Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah is probably my favorite and the one that nudged me into searching for as much information as I could find on anything and everything about how it was possible for me to create my own destiny. Richard’s books were the stepping stones to the realization that I am responsible for everything that shows up in my life.

Reading both these books caused me to wander around in a euphoric state for quite a few days. This was back in the ’70’s (and no I wasn’t on drugs ;o) . They ushered me onto a new path of spirituality which I have been journeying on ever since.

It was a simpler time back then…less information on this type of inner stuff than you can find now. I miss it sometimes as there are often times that I go into information overload and kinda short out my circuits. I wouldn’t give up the internet now if you paid me though ;o) I think it’s great that so many more people are being exposed to all this incredible information on manifesting your own life…the reach of the internet is much wider than books could ever be…but one of my favorite things is still to walk into a bookstore and see which books call to me. They are old friends and will remain so forever. Sitting under a tree in the warm sunshine reading a book that makes my heart sing and my mind whirl with new ideas….mmmmm…can’t get much better than that!
