"Eliminate physical clutter. More importantly, eliminate spiritual clutter."
- D.H. Mondfleur
I sometimes feel so overwhelmed with my surroundings that I can't think straight. How about you? So many demands on my time and attention…tons of distractions…endless noise, voices, beeps, air conditioners, fridges, cell phones, traffic…acccck! Not only that but the clutter! Yikes!
I don't even know where half of it comes from…it just seems to show up in my life and take permanent residency in my home. I find that one of the easiest ways to come back to my center is to clean out the physical clutter. It just seems to allow for more space, not only in my home, but also in my mind and my spirit.
Taking a walk along the river or in a park filled with trees and grass helps to quiet the noise inside my head and allows me to find my own inner voice again. It helps relieve the irritability and tiredness I feel when constantly bombarded with the outside world.
What about you? What do you do to get yourself back to a place of quiet simplicity?
